Category: Accessible Games
hi guys,
Does anyone know of any web based speech friendly rpgs? AAny info would be great!
Arwen
The closest thing I know is if you download a program called GMud and get the scripts for it. I'm sorry, I'm not aware of the exact site for scripts or for downloading the program. Once you get those, there's a mud called Alter Aeon which can be accessed by the following info.
hostname: dentinmud.org
Port: 3010
this may be an old message lol, but here's what I know anyway, scotty's site, at www.whitestick.co.uk, I think has a few speech friendly rpg's on it. Haven't tried them though so can't tell ya what they're like. hope this help.
Yeah I found a great RPG on www.whtiestick.co.uk, the URL to the actual game is www.ktreva.net/logd, it's free and web browser based, and I have a friend who uses it who has JFW, I have Window-Eyes myself. Anyway, she says it's perfectly accessible. I highly recommend the game. Very addictive, and simple to use once you get into it!

alter aeon sucks
try these two sites, www.urban-rpg.com and www.sryth.com they're pretty good.
I'm sorry...Caitlin's post is out-of-date, ktreva has closed down...but if you go to www.pqcomp.com/logd or www.pqcomp.com/lotgd, there're two rpg games that're accesible...though i prefer first link better my self.
Thanks for updating for me Alison, because i was going to and I couldn't remember the URL lol! Anyway yes, Legend of the Green Dragon is good, and there's other ones on www.whitestick.co.uk, as well as other awesome stuff! Lol. Okay bye...
Caitlin
Sryth rules. Another good one is the kingdomofloathing www.kingdomofloathing.com and dragon's kingdom www.dk-rpg.com
I haven't found any new ones yet, I kind of deserted logd...it gets kinda boring after a while! he he he. alison
That it does. I got about 6 dragon kills before I got burnt out on LOGD.
Wow, this is awesome. I've been looking for some accessible RPG's. Think I'll try some of these out tomorrow.
ugh sryth. I love the game, but when I upgraded to adventurers guild, I followed the process, but I couldn't play. I don't want to renew my membership. The game rules, if only I could get my membership to work... Monster Breeder at www.monbre.com is fully accessible with JFW and the BraileNote MPower and Apex. The only inaccessible part is exploring, but that is fixable if you click on random tiles. The developer is willing to receive all coments. It's a great game and I hope you like it.
Another good one is Dark legacy. ( not the mud, that's just plain confusing in my opinion) You can get it at dlrpg.com. It works perfectly with JFW and even works on BrailleNotes. Now that's cool.
I'm personally a huge Sryth fan and have been playing it for nearly six years. As for Kingdom of Loathing, I tried it thanks to my sister suggesting it and while I did enjoy the Monty Python style humor I did sort of lose interest in it after a while, twice as a matter of fact. And it's really difficult sometimes to really level up, so I'd get to a certain point, say, killing the Boss Bat or the Knob Gobblin King and just get stuck there. So my interest in KOL sort of tapered off. And once you get full and then drunk in an effort to rack up Adventures and keep playing as long as possible there's not a whole lot you can do.
Does anyone know if Jaws work with a game called RuneScape. I use to play this when I had vision. Now i have no vision i miss it very much
thanks
Bryan, I can see what you're talking about with Ko-l, but there's a lot of things you can do to break the monotony. You can go after trophies, adventure in the sea if you're a high enough level, adventure in clan dungeons, again if you're a high enough level and your clan offers them, and build up your skills. Also, if you have the meat, Uncle P's antiques has been offering a new quest every 15th of the month, and while you can't get the previous ones, it's still worth checking out. There's the VIP lounge in your clan if you donate during a month when they're offering a VIP key, and don't forget Crimbo. Of course, every time you ascend you end up playing the same quests again, but I honestly can't say I've ever gotten bored with the game, at least not for a long time. I've taken a couple breaks from it here and there, but all in all I enjoy the game. Of course if you don't that's fine, but I'm just telling you some things you might not have considered.
